Adobe Photoshop CS5 is an updated version of the infamous photo editing and digital painting software.
This super versatile program keeps many of the tools and features that made the previous versions so popular. These include tools that allow for automatic correction of focus distortions, precise object alignment, and the elimination of noise in photos and images. Camera compatibility has been expanded in this version thanks to a new plug-in and the number of file types that can be processed has increased.
Probably the most innovative feature that Adobe Photoshop CS5 offers is the Content-Aware Fill tool. This tool allows users to remove rather complex objects from a photo or image without leaving much evidence behind that it was there in the first place. Imagine you took a photograph of your friend at a famous landmark, the picture is perfect except that you also managed to capture another random person in the background. Instead of disregarding this photograph or getting annoyed you can now simply use the Content-Aware Fill tool, select the unwanted person and delete! This feature shows an impressive advancement for Adobe Photoshop and with this capability it seems unlikely that you’ll ever have to worry about people photo-bombing and ruining your photographs ever again! As well as being used to delete items the Content-Aware Fill tool can select objects from that same image and add them to any white space, making it easy rearrange a photo.
Another great new feature that users will notice in this version is the addition of different work modes for the program. The mode can be changed easily using a toggle that allows users to select from various modes, one of them being a painting mode. It features texture brushes, sensor brushes, color blending, and even pressure sensitivity for those who use drawing tablets. This is excellent for illustrators or photo editors who want to meld the two professions together, or just want to be able to play around with different things without leaving the program.
